Comparative Studies on Field Performance of Micropropagated and Conventionally Propagated Sugarcane Plants
نویسندگان
چکیده
The tissue culture derived sugarcane var. CoJ 64 plants attained better height, millable cane height and a greater number of live buds to conventionally raised plants. Further, the plants raised in vitro showed 13.2% increase in cane yield and 11.03% sugar recovery as compared to conventionally propagated sugarcane under parallel agronomic practices in the field, advocating suitability of seed cane programmed through tissue culture.

Morphophysiologicals Problems in Acclimatization of Micropropagated Plants in -Ex Vitro Conditions- A Reviews
Plant tissue culture refers to growing and multiplication of cells, tissues and organs of plants on defined solid or liquid media under aseptic and controlled environment. Micropropagation allows rapid production of high quality, disease-free and uniform planting material. The micropropagation of high quality planting materials of ornamentals, and forest and fruit trees has created new opportun...
متن کاملField Performance of Grafted Fruit-Tree Rootstocks Was Not Affected by Micropropagation
The use of micropropagated trees has been widely extended, since micropropagation is a convenient technique of vegetative propagation that shows a number of interesting advantages, mainly for woody fruit trees. However, only few studies can be found in the literature on the field performance of micropropagated trees. In this work, the performance of different micropropagated fruit-tree rootstoc...
متن کاملMicropropagation of Ficus religiosa L. via leaf explants and comparative evaluation of acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity in the micropropagated and conventionally grown plants
A high-frequency, season-independent, in vitro regeneration of Ficusreligiosa was developed, followed by comparative acetylcholinesterase inhibitory (AChEI) activity assay of the in vitro raised and conventionally grown plants. The use of AChEI activity is the most accepted strategy for the treatment of Alzheimer disease. Fully expanded, mature leaves were cut into different segments to initiat...
متن کاملMicropropagation enhances in vitro establishment and multiplication of new cultures from field grown plants of ‘Adesoto 101’ (Prunus insititia) rootstock
The establishment of new in vitro cultures is often a difficult task due to low growth of initial explants. The explant has to adapt to the new nutritional and environmental conditions, in addition to the surface-disinfection process. Since the explant origin plays an important role, in this work, the effect of the origin of the explants (micropropagated or conventionally propagated plants) in ...

AIMS To evaluate the colonization process of sugarcane plantlets and hydroponically grown rice seedlings by Gluconacetobacter diazotrophicus strain PAL5 marked with the gusA and gfp reporter genes. METHODS AND RESULTS Sugarcane plantlets inoculated in vitro with PAL5 carrying the gfp::gusA plasmid pHRGFPGUS did not present green fluorescence, but beta-glucuronidase (GUS)-stained bacteria coul...
